Ja Morant's Nike Ja 1 has swiftly risen in popularity, mirroring the meteoric rise of the Memphis Grizzlies star himself. Although Morant is sidelined for the season after shoulder surgery, his signature sneaker continues to capture the excitement of his dynamic play. In conjunction with the NBA All-Star festivities this February, Nike is set to release a special All-Star-themed colorway of the Nike Ja 1, exclusively for kids. Alongside this kids pair, there will also be an adult and kids version of a different All-Star Ja 1.
This All-Star variant of the Ja 1 is a vibrant interpretation of Morant's first signature model. On the upper, we see metallic silver with a captivating prism effect on the lower eyestay and Swoosh. This detail aligns the sneaker with other GS-exclusive All-Star releases like the Foamposite One, LeBron 21, and GT Cut 3, creating a cohesive theme across Nike's All-Star lineup.
The sneaker's upper blends white mesh and leather with blue hues. Glacier blue accents adorn the heel, adding a touch of coolness, while university blue highlights the lace set and sockliner, injecting a playful yet sophisticated tone. Morant's personal touch is evident with his logo, which gets a star-studded graphic makeover on the tongue and insole, resonating with the All-Star theme. Underfoot sits a white and blue midsole, providing cushioning and support. The outsole features a semi-translucent icy blue finish, enhanced with metallic silver speckles, adding a dash of flair and ensuring excellent traction.
