We’ve seen plenty of footwear brands introduce silhouettes that can either be reused or recycled, such as adidas’ Ready To Be Remade program. Across the pond, The Swoosh has quickly made progress on the eco-friendly front, adding recycled materials to their already released designs and introducing models such as the Space Hippie that takes things to another level. Turning the dial to 11 is the latest silhouette out of Eugene, Oregon, the Nike ISPA Link. Already appearing in “Barley Desert Moss,” we’ve recently been given official looks at the upcoming “Black Medium Olive” colorway.
This latest silhouette from Nike takes part in their circular design philosophy, being easily recyclable and refurbished due to the two-piece construction that lacks any glue or bonding agent. Along the knit upper, black, brown, and grey merge together to create the sock-like slip-on with the bottom half taking on a lighter shade of grey and silver. ISPA and Nike branding are featured on the pull-tab that runs from toe to atop the tongue, and a Nike Swoosh is embroidered in silver on the toebox and black heel overlay. Tonal black laces weave in and out of the two-tone black and brown nylon loops along the midfoot. Underfoot, a medium olive foam midsole and outsole protrude from the cutouts on the knit upper, locking into place to form the silhouette.
The Nike ISPA Link Black Medium Olive is set to release on June 22nd, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $225.
