NBA All-Star isn’t the only occasion bringing out exclusive sneakers. As the NCAA season inches closer to March, Nike is still sending new PE colorways to its favorite schools, and after lacing Duke with a full set of signature kicks last month, the Blue Devils are back with a pair of GT Futures in black carbon fiber.
First posted to Instagram by Duke Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach Tyler Thornton, the slick black GT Future looks like a carbon fiber Ferrari or Ducati. The alien-inspired silhouette is covered in carbon fiber striping that runs from toe to heel and reflects light in crazy directions. The branding is split with contrasting colors, adding a white Duke “D” on the tongue and a metallic blue Swoosh on the lateral heel.
Duke is currently sitting in the number six spot in the NCAA Top 25, with the Boozer twins gearing up for a March Madness run before presumably declaring for the NBA Draft. So far, the dominant Duke squad has been blacking out on the footwear, with pairs of the KD 18, LeBron 23, Giannis Freak 7, Sabrina 3, and more in black and blue.
Like the rest of Duke’s Nike PEs this year, the Nike GT Future Duke PE won’t be releasing to the general public. That said, if you’re in LA for All-Star Weekend, look out for another pair of limited GT Futures dropping with the All-Star Warning Label collection.
