Nike's archives span decades, and the brand has been known to breathe new life into many of its forgotten silhouettes. For its latest revival, Nike has chosen the gridiron-ready Nike Field General 82, a classic model making a strong comeback in modern sneaker culture. Following the Aluminum Total Orange and ahead of the anticipated Union x Nike Field General 82 release later this summer, a new London-themed colorway is set to debut.
The Nike Field General 82 London features a refined color palette and premium material construction. The upper is a mix of hairy suede and canvas, with tan suede adorning the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay, while dark brown tumbled leather is used for the Swoosh and heel tab. The sneaker's base is crafted from cream-colored canvas, giving it a versatile and timeless look. Outdoor-inspired laces in a brown and yellow finish add a rugged touch to the cream tongue.
Notable nods to London are present throughout the design, including an LDN tag on the medial midfoot and coordinates inside the sneaker. However, the exact details remain partially hidden in available images. Additionally, a quote referencing birds chirping is found on the insole, adding a unique and thoughtful detail. Underfoot, the sneaker is finished with a brown rubber midsole and outsole, completing the earthy and sophisticated aesthetic.
The Nike Field General 82 London will release in Fall 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
