Inspired by the cutting room floor of cobblers, the Nike Dunk Low Scrap was first introduced to us last May. Launching alongside a myriad of normal Dunk Lows, this update to the model provides a breath of fresh air to the original 1985 design we’ve come to know and love. First seen a few months back, we’re approaching the launch of the Nike Dunk Low Scrap “Black Gum.”
Continuing to maintain the Dunk's iconic midsole and outsole, the upper of this pair is where we see radical changes. Constructed out of a collage of mesh, suede, nubuck and leather, this “Black Gum” edition keeps the colors relatively neutral. Above the black mesh underlay sits the variety of adorning details in mixed materials and shades of black and grey. Keeping up with the scrap moniker, the overlays come incomplete across the upper, conveying the thrown together look. Black Swooshes wrap back to the Nike branded heel tab. Matched to a black midsole and gum outsole, these Scrap Dunks keep the best of the old school present.
The Nike Dunk Low Scrap Black Gum is set to release in 2022. Retailing at $110 in men's sizing, Nike and select retailers will drop these online and in-store.
