While many believe the Dunk trend is on the downward trend, Nike's Dunk Low continues to sell out across the board, no matter the color or material makeup. In an effort to reduce their carbon footprint, Nike introduced the Next Nature variation, producing the silhouette with 20% recycled materials by weight. Combining two remixes to the classic low-top 80s silhouette, Nike winterizes the Nike Dunk Low Next Nature in a “Rift Blue” colorway.
Swapping out standard leather or suede for the base layer, the silhouette is covered in a grey fog quilted textile that is made of 100% recycled polyester, helping serve both the winter wear aesthetic and sustainability efforts. Making up the various overlays is a Rift Blue suede, providing contrast to the black Nike Swoosh on the midfoot and the previously mentioned grey fog underlay. Located just above the Nike Swoosh are two Nike branded tags, one in the classic orange the company is known for and the other denoting the Nike Next Nature build. Tonal blue flat laces work up to the pinwheel-covered tongue tag with Nike’s Move To Zero initiative written on the backside. Further aiding the winter vibes is the fleece-like sockliner and “Toasty” label on the volt green insole. Rounding out the look is the white Dunk midsole and gum rubber outsole combo.
The Nike Dunk Low Next Nature “Rift Blue” is scheduled to release in the US on April 21st through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men and grade school sizes, the retail price for men's pairs is $110.
