In the '80s, Nike introduced the world to the Dunk silhouette, launching the Dunk High in various colorways for collegiate basketball programs, known as the Be True To Your School Pack. These original universities included Syracuse, whose orange-based Dunk Low became one of the hottest colorways when the Dunk Low began to have a resurgence in the early 2020s. The sneaker restocked in 2022, causing the aftermarket price to dip. Still, Nike is offering those who missed out another opportunity to snag a pair with a new version of the Syracuse Dunk Low in Cosmic Clay, set to release this holiday season.
The upcoming Nike Dunk Low Cosmic Clay Syracuse stays true to its heritage with a few subtle updates. Featuring the traditional all-leather construction, this new iteration sports a slightly different orange hue, known as cosmic clay, that graces the mudguard, eyestays, heel overlay, and Swoosh. White leather is used for the toe box, midfoot, and collar, maintaining the iconic two-tone look that fans love. Orange laces add a vibrant contrast against the white tongue, and the tongue tag sees an update with an orange woven label featuring white Nike branding, inverting the look from the original Syracuse release. The design includes a white midsole and an orange rubber outsole, providing the classic Dunk Low aesthetic.
The Nike Dunk Low Cosmic Clay Syracuse was released today, October 14, 2024, and is available now through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
