Reworking retro designs is never a bad thing, especially when your most popular models are often from over 30 years ago. Nike definitely subscribes to this idea as we’ve seen multiple colorways of the Nike Dunk and the upcoming women’s Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Varsity Red coming with chenille details on their Nike Swoosh branding. Add another colorway to the list with the Nike Dunk High University "Light Smoke Grey."
Tonal greys sit atop the leather construction throughout the sneaker, sans the oversized chenille-covered Swoosh along the midfoot. Dark shades appear along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay while a lighter grey makes its way onto the perforated toebox, midfoot panel, and collar. More tonal grey hits appear through the lace and tongue combo with a black, red, and white Nike branded tongue tag atop the tongue complimenting the monochromatic look. Lining the aforementioned Swoosh is more chenille, though it takes on an accenting white. Borrowing from the tongue tag is the insole’s black Nike branding featuring a red Swoosh logo. Rounding out the look is the white Dunk midsole and gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High University Light Smoke Grey is slated to release during the Holiday 2022 season through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
