Another chenille takeover of the Nike Dunk High has emerged in Gym Red.
We’ve all come to expect more colorways of the Nike Dunk silhouette as The Swoosh has made it clear the model is still a major part of their release strategy for the rest of this year and into 2023. In order to revitalize the silhouette in some way, different materials have replaced the usual all-leather or suede and leather construction, like the previously seen “Fleece Green” pair or various chenille-covered Swooshes. Joining in the latter of the two materials is the Nike Dunk High Chenille Swoosh "Gym Red."
The classic two-tone color scheme of gym red and white conjures up BTTYS options as the entire upper, sans the red chenille Swoosh, comes in leather. Around the toebox, midfoot, and collar sits white shaded leather while the overlays along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay get a gym red makeover. Running up the white mesh tongue is a set of red flat laces, stopping below the retro-esque black and orange Nike branded tongue tag. As previously mentioned, the chenille Swoosh comes in red, though piping the entire logo is a patch of yellow chenille. Underfoot, the Dunk midsole gets covered in white while the rubber outsole below deviates from the two-tone look by taking on a gum appearance.
The Nike Dunk High Chenille Swoosh Gym Red is set to release this Holiday 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
