Across the footwear industry, we have seen a major push for sustainable and eco-friendly sneaker designs and Nike has been a leader in this category with models like the Space Hippie and Cosmic Unity. Both silhouettes incorporate eco-friendly construction and manufacturing processes while still providing top-tier comfort and support for their intended uses as the Cosmic Unity provides a sustainable performance basketball sneaker for The Swoosh. Continuing the Cosmic Unity lineup, the third rendition was revealed a few weeks back and even more colorways continue to emerge with the latest coming in “Pale Vanilla Topaz Gold.”
Covered in sustainably constructed textiles, the silhouette takes on a primarily gold hue across its various knit patterns while hits of pale vanilla take over the neoprene tongue and sockliner. Wavy-like patterns run all over the upper and once you reach the top portion of the upper you see various accenting hits, like the pink Swoosh and vanilla-shaded knit on the collar, adding depth to the model. The exposed foam around the tongue matches the shade of the two pull tabs (one on the tongue and heel) that feature Nike and Cosmic Unity branding details. Underfoot we see a golden foam midsole with a cutout near the midfoot hosting a pale vanilla knit paired with a recycled Nike Grind rubber outsole in a tannish hue.
The Nike Cosmic Unity 3 Pale Vanilla Topaz Gold is set to release June 2nd, 2023, through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
