Nike's Cortez, one of the oldest and most respected silhouettes in Nike’s storied history, is making a strong comeback with more contemporary renditions. Known for its classic, timeless design, the Cortez first appeared in the ‘70s and has since remained a sneaker staple. Today, we're taking a closer look at the upcoming "Midnight Navy" release.
The Nike Cortez in this “Midnight Navy” color scheme offers a mix of materials on its upper, with suede, nylon, and leather intricately intertwined. The majority of the sneaker is doused in the titular navy hue. Suede appears on the toecap, vamp, eyestays, and heel overlay, complemented by a nylon base layer. Contrast is added with a crisp white leather Swoosh on the midfoot and the leather heel tab. A metallic silver Swoosh-branded lace dubrae holds the navy lace set in place. Finishing the upper details are a navy tongue and sockliner. Underneath, the white and navy foam midsole pairs elegantly with a white grooved rubber outsole.
The Nike Cortez Midnight Navy W will release July 28, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $90.
