We may have had a bit of a gripe with the slow build to Caitlin Clark finally getting a signature sneaker with Nike, but the rollout for the Nike Caitlin 1 has renewed our hopes for The Swoosh. Dozens of colorways of Clark’s model have graced our social feeds, and the hype only builds when we get first looks as we approach the launch of the Caitlin Blue and Warning Code colorways on October 1. In one of Nike’s latest ads for the Caitlin 1, Clark gives us a tour of what she packs when she’s jetsetting, giving us a first look at an unseen glow-in-the-dark colorway of her debut signature sneaker.
Nike Caitlin 1 Glow in the Dark Details
Packed tight in her suitcase next to her journal, clothing, and the Kansas City Chiefs-inspired Sea of Red Caitlin 1 is a black and green Nike Caitlin 1. After picking up the pair, she says, “Solid shoe. If you turn the lights off all the way, they might glow in the dark. I don’t know, you gotta find out,” before putting the sneaker back into her luggage. We only get a few glances at the sneaker, but we can see it features black on the “22” and “CC” Opticast nodes across the upper with a marbled light green added to the base below.
The CC logo on the tongue and portions of the stacked Swooshes on the midfoot come in the same light green hue that, we assume, will glow when the lights go out. The rest of the upper, including the laces, heel, and tongue, is done in stealthy black to let the green accents shine even brighter. Finishing the design is the black midsole and the glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole.
Is the Nike Caitlin 1 Glow in the Dark Releasing?
As of this writing, there are no confirmed release details for the Nike Caitlin 1 Glow in the Dark. It may be a player-exclusive just for Caitlin and her friends and family, but her wording seems to indicate you’ll have a chance to own the pair. Let’s hope they come sooner rather than later.
