When Forrest Gump ran across America, his footwear of choice was a pair of patriotic red, white, and blue Nike Cortez's. The classic running silhouette in the same color scheme as Forrest’s pair receives a skateboarding remix, entitled the Nike Blue Ribbon SB (aka Nike BRSB).
Similar to the Nike Cortez, mixtures of suede, leather, and a rubber mudguard help construct the skateboard-focused upper. Mini embroidered Nike Swooshes on the toe matches the red leather Swoosh that comes sunken along the midfoot. On the rear, white leather panels work back towards the red leather heel tab. Around the toe and eyestays sits a cream colored suede that has a rigid-like appearance similar to the rigid outsoles of the Cortez. The rigid texture seen on Cortez's carrries over to the BRSB's rigid white outsole that features React foam in-soles.
The Nike BRSB Forrest Gump is set to release in 2022 through select skate shops and possibly online through Nike. Coming in mens sizing, the retail price is set at $85.
