Heating Up: Nike’s Latest Book 2 is a Ball of Flame Inspired by NBA JAM

Long before the days of GTA and Call of Duty, video games were all about zapping alien invaders, avoiding ghosts in pellet-filled mazes, and of course, jamming on your favorite basketball stars in NBA JAM. One of the best sports video games ever made, NBA JAM covered consoles and stand-up arcade boxes, with two-on-two games full of otherworldly dunks.

He’s On Fire!

Devin Booker is a scholar of all things culturally cool, so it's no surprise the ‘90s baby has a fondness for NBA JAM, and his latest Nike Book 2 PE is bringing some of the game’s hot streak luck to the modern NBA court. Debuting in the Suns’ losing effort against the Trail Blazers Wednesday night, the fireball colorway led to a game-high 33 points for Booker despite the loss.

Featuring a black base, the entire colorway is heating up and then on fire thanks to orange and red flame graphics bringing a backdraft to the entire upper. The midsole is burnt to a crisp in black, and the lace panel adds a little bit of singed grey flare with reflective silver stripes on the lace loops.
