The NBA’s sneaker watch season is in full effect. Of course, everyone is paying extra attention to what Steph Curry is lacing up in the weeks since his surprise departure from Under Armour, but across the league, players like James Harden, LeBron James, and Devin Booker are debuting new colorways of their latest shoes on a nightly basis. Booker, who debuted his Nike Book 2 last month, broke out a new colorway twice in one weekend.

The Nike Book 2 Detroit Stomper hit the court in OKC on Friday and back home in Phoenix against the Nuggets on Saturday. The triple black colorway is a shoutout to the cold winters and muted fashion sense of his Detroit, Michigan roots, covering the entire upper in black suede or nubuck with a shiny black patent leather Swoosh on the side panels. The colorway is completed with more black on the midsole, tongue, and laces.

Booker has always injected his personality and hobbies into his Nike signature line, and the Book 2 upgrade is no different, with location-specific colorways on the first three pairs we’ve seen. Debuting with two colorways representing Phoenix, Bookers’ home for his entire NBA career, the Detroit follow-up is a fitting sequel for the Michigan native.

We’ve seen the Batman blend Nike Book 2 Detroit Stomper twice on court now, but there is still no word on whether this pair is a PE or an early look at a production release. As always, tap in with us over at the Sole Retriever mobile app to get the latest Nike Book 2 news as soon as we know it.
