Suns star Devin Booker has not just been making waves on the court but off it too, especially in the sneaker community. Joining the coveted club of NBA athletes with their signature Nike kicks, Booker debuted the Clay Orange colorway of his first signature sneaker, the Nike Book 1, during the season opener. This limited edition pair only saw 500 pairs released and was a preamble to the broader launch. Following up on this ultra-limited pair will be the Light Orewood Brown rendition.
The Nike Book 1 Mirage V1 Light Orewood Brown promises to be a culmination of style, functionality, and personal storytelling. Drawing parallels with the Ashen Slate design, this sneaker amalgamates the ruggedness of workwear-inspired canvas midfoot panels with the soft elegance of suede overlays. An oversized tumbled leather Swoosh elegantly traces the midfoot, harmoniously blending with the safety orange Booker branding on the tongue. Sesame hues, both subtle and rich, accentuate the sneaker's perforated collar and sockliner, lending it an elevated visual appeal.
However, what truly sets this sneaker apart is its homage to Booker's roots. The inside of the tongue tag boasts an embroidered rendition of his family tattoo. At the same time, the insole carries numbers significant to him, encapsulating the zip codes from Grand Rapids to Phoenix. The heel proudly displays Chapter 1 with pull tabs in a baroque brown shade reminiscent of a book's spine and pages, evoking the literary essence of its name. The underfoot experience is designed for optimum performance, equipped with a 14mm Air Zoom unit in the heel, Cushlon 2.0 foam, a midfoot shank, and topped off with a semi-translucent rubber outsole.
The Nike Book 1 Mirage V1 Light Orewood Brown will release on February 17, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
