After heading straight into the NBA from high school, LeBron James had already secured a signature sneaker deal with The Swoosh, however, the first entry in the now-20-sneaker-deep series lacked the “Nike LeBron” moniker we all know and love today. After switching up the build of his 20th signature sneaker to be ready for the next generation of athletes, James and Nike are looking back to the Nike Air Zoom Generation and reintroducing the model with the “1st Game” colorway.
Taking on a combination of leather and mesh throughout the upper, this “1st Game” colorway keeps things simple as it features a patriotic-like color scheme of red, white, and blue throughout. White leather takes over the mudguard, toebox, and eyestays while red mesh appears from the midfoot back to the heel and continues to wrap towards the medial midfoot. A white-on-white combo appears on the lace set and tongue with the latter of the two hosting an embroidery of LeBron James’ crown logo in a tonal white shade. Along the lateral midfoot sits a white Nike Swoosh which comes trimmed with blue details that match the accents found on the TPU eyelets and a portion of the heel counter. Our final hit of LeBron branding comes via the insole with his name printed in white while the entire sneaker’s design is completed by a two-tone red and white midsole and a rubber outsole utilizing all three colors found on the upper.
The Nike Air Zoom Generation 1st Game is set to release on March 21st, 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
