Originally made as a lightweight running sneaker mimicking the feel of a t-shirt, the Tobie Hatfield-designed Nike Air Presto has made its way to a modern-day staple in streetwear. Over its twenty plus year span, the Presto has featured everything from all-over graphics to solid colors and material upgrades. For 2022, Nike Sportswear is giving us a taste of 90s flair with the Presto “Hike Man” edition.
Inspired by the Hike Nike Man from classic Nike ACG ad campaigns, these Presto’s feature a white and blue upper with black polka dots on the toe area. The polka dots are a nod to Hike Man’s shorts. Light Pink accents the laces as well as the Presto logo on the tongue while black covers the toe cap, midfoot cage, liner and outsole.
Hits of green adorn the translucent plastic heel and back pull tab while a white midsole with a red Swoosh logo copy his t-shirt. This pair wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from the Hike Man himself, which is why his face is prominent on the insoles.
