At this point in time, the Nike Air More Uptempo is no longer the pinnacle of basketball tech, but it is still one of the more popular options to wear off the court. As of late, it seems The Swoosh is pushing for more GS and women’s exclusive pairs, like the “Light Bone Alligator” or "Golden State Warriors" colorways. You can add another to the list of women’s exclusives as the Nike Air More Uptempo “Wheat Gum” has appeared.
A monochromatic wheat shade covers the entire upper’s tumbled leather and mesh construction. Typical details remain, though the toebox forgoes the Swoosh embroidery in favor of a debossed logo. In between the perforated leather along the midfoot sits the infamous “AIR” branding, taking on a quilted leather finish with debossed “Nike” text sprinkled throughout. Running up the wheat tongue is a set of tonal laces that reach the bungee pull tab, which is also present back on the heel. Providing a break from this all-over wheat shade is a white foam midsole with visible Air units, though the rubber outsole below gets a gum shade not too far from the upper’s tan shade.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Wheat Gum W was originally slated to release on September 20th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. After a small delay, they will now release on October 4th. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
