Nike has brought back a cult classic from the mid-2000s with the Air Max Sunder, launching the sneaker in multiple colorways over the last few weeks. While we have a new Black Silver colorway to look forward to alongside the White Burgundy Crush and Black Gold, the sneaker was also previewed during Nike’s recent SNKRS Showcase to be coming in Gore-Tex makeovers. Now, images of both Gore-Tex Air Max Sunders have emerged.
Both Black and Hyper Crimson pairs feature the same construction with added Gore-Tex coating for a weatherproof finish. Ripstop nylon is utilized for the base layer, with the titular hue from each pair present here. Gore-Tex branding gets placed back on the lateral heel, resting above the black leather overlay that wraps from the toe back to the heel. A zipper shroud on the tongue hides the lace set and the hidden throwback to the early 2000s with “6, 4, 5, 3” present, spelling out Nike on an old keypad. TPU plugs land across the leather panel on the profile, with the Black colorway sticking to the tonal shade and the Hyper Crimson pair contrasting the black leather with red hits. Underfoot sits a black foam midsole featuring visible Air units in the forefoot and heel paired with a black rubber outsole.
