This Nike Air Max Plus Looks Back At The Models Birth Year Of 1998

Air Max sneakers have held a large cult following and a general acceptance by the average consumer since its inception way back in 1986, however, various iterations have stronger holds throughout different regions of the world. In the UK and EU, rocking a pair of the Nike Air Max Plus is seen as standard practice for those who dress “in style” and the model is actually celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2023. Bringing us back to the days of bright colors and massive graphics on apparel, the Nike Air Max Plus “Mercurial XXV” is here.

Taking on the standard construction of an Air Max Plus, the silhouette comes covered in vibrant pink hues throughout its mesh upper while accenting hits of neon green, silver, and black appear throughout. Various logos referencing Nike, the Air Max Plus’ “Tuned Air” cushioning, and the birth year of the model are plastered across the upper in black and come partially broken up by black and silver TPU overlays wrapping around the model. Further black accents take over the mudguard, heel overlay, laces, and sockliner while neon green hits pop along the mini Swoosh on the midfoot and via the branding details atop the tongue. Underfoot sits a Tuned Air-cushioned midsole in white paired with a black and pink rubber outsole.

The Nike Air MAx Plus Mercurial XXV is set to release Summer 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
