The Nike Air Max Plus Marseille Releases Fall 2023

From its innovative origins in 1998 to its steadfast position as a staple in the sneaker community, the Nike Air Max Plus has continuously captivated sneakerheads globally. Its presence in Europe, however, holds a special note, with various cities across the continent embracing this iconic silhouette as a part of their urban culture. Considering Europe's evident love for Air Max models, Nike has crafted a series of colorways as an ode to vibrant EU cities. The latest to join this esteemed line-up is a tribute to the Mediterranean port city of Marseille, France, building on previous releases such as the captivating "Brixton" colorway inspired by London's diverse culture.

The Marseille rendition of the Nike Air Max Plus is a tasteful homage to the coastal city known for its rich history and artistry. The model features a grid pattern adorning its mesh upper, reminiscent of Marseille's storied streets and vibrant artistic tapestry. The TPU reinforcements across the upper come alive in a gradient blue design, capturing the city's maritime spirit. This maritime shade extends gracefully to the nylon lace loops and is celebrated with the Marseille crest prominently displayed atop the tongue. The chrome Swoosh logos on the midfoot infuse a contemporary, reflective flair into the shoe, meshing well with the clean white leather mudguard and heel overlay. Aside from the coat of arms on the tongue, direct nods to the city include the Latin phrase "Actibus immensis urbs fulget Massiliensis" (Marseille shines by its deeds) on the right sneaker's tongue.
