The Air Max 97 celebrates its 25th birthday this year, as this “Vintage” colorway is Nike’s aged entry to the celebration. A textile underlay gives way to the canvas overlays that make up the waves of the upper. The suede mudguard is stitched into the beige textile toe rand, as the window within the mudguard reveals a yellowed mesh with a light blue Nike Swoosh. The heel tab is a repeated “Nike Sportswear” label with an orange swoosh, adding to the vintage theme, as the yellow midsole encases an intentionally cloudy Air Max unit, with the pre-yellowed translucent outsole to finish the look.
