2022 marks 25 years since Christian Tresser introduced the Air Max 97 to the world. One of the most iconic sneakers in history, the water ripple-inspired silhouette still looks pretty much exactly the same even after a quarter of a century. To celebrate this huge anniversary, the Beaverton sportswear giant has taken the wraps off with the upcoming Nike Air Max 97 "Metallic Gold Black."
If you're a big fan of the AM 97, then the "Metallic Gold" probably reminds you of a Foamposite variant from the 2010s and the legendary Nike Air Max 97 "Gold Bullet" all mashed into one sleek sneaker. Crafted from a combination of leather and mesh, the tongue, sockliner, and lacing system are all painted in black, while the wavy side panels roll in in a luxe metallic gold hue. This is then finished off with an all-black midsole that's comes complete with a full-length Max Air unit underfoot.
The Nike Air Max 97 Metallic Gold Black W is a women's exclusive and is set to release in 2022 for $185. Expected to drop at Nike and select stockists online and in-store worldwide, make sure that you follow us over on Twitter and download Sole Retriever's official Mobile app for your best chance to secure your size!
