Combining neutral and vibrant tones on the Nike AM 90.
Air Max technology was a breakthrough point for Nike, spawning a line of silhouettes that have since garnered a cult following. One of the OG’s and most popular variations would have to be the Air Max 90, which recently appeared in a 90s-esque colorway dubbed "Grey Neon."
Classic AM 90 construction is present with a mixture of leather, mesh, and plastic taking over the upper. Greyscale appears on the mesh toebox and collar as well as the leather overlays, though both of these get contrasted by a stark white set of laces. While the bottommost plastic eyestay comes in white, the topmost get the volt green treatment. More vibrant colors land on the plastic branding detail on the mudguard, heel tab, and the toe of the outsole. Darker tones break up this color palette as the Nike Swoosh and portion of the midsole and outsole get covered in black. Finishing the design is a white foam midsole with a visible Max Air unit in the heel that is dressed in blue.
The Nike Air Max 90 Grey Neon is set to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
