Once the pinnacle of Nike’s running silhouettes, the Nike Air Max 90 has rightfully transitioned over to the lifestyle side of its lineup. With the entire Air Max line celebrating its 35th birthday, those that find themselves collecting every colorway have been blessed in 2022 as the AM 90 itself has received a variety of makeovers, though we’re still set to get more iterations before the year's end. Taking us back to the days of taking the model on a trail run, the Air Max 90 Gore-Tex “Black Sequoia” is almost here.
Coming covered in weather-resistant materials, this Gore-Tex rendition keeps things simple with its color scheme as its primarily black shade is contrasted by sequoia, tour yellow, dark smoke grey, and a combo of hyper magenta and dynamic berry. Black leather appears on the toebox and eyestays while this same shade takes over the ripstop nylon on the tongue and collar as well as on the TPU overlays along the quarter panel. Contrasting this is a leather mudguard and quarter panel that comes in sequoia. Another overlay running from the toe to the heel gets covered in dark smoke grey and features yellow “Gore-Tex” branding in place of its usual “Air Max” text atop a purple TPU. Further yellow hits can be found via the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot while the heel tab splits the “Nike Air” text between yellow and purple. Rounding out the design is the black foam midsole featuring an exposed Air unit in the heel paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 90 Gore-Tex Black Sequoia is set to release on November 10th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
