One of the Nike Air Max 1s OG colorways comes back in Slide form.
Air technology has played a pivotal role in the success of Nike over its history with many of the most iconic models, whether that be Basketball, Lifestyle, or Running, having featured the cushioning system. Even with the latest innovations like the Air Max Scorpion being introduced, many revert back to the classics - the Nike Air Max 1 included. As the silhouette that started the cult-classic Air Max line, it has received various makeovers over the course of its 30-plus years on the market and is evening returning in its “Big Bubble” form this coming March. Now, stripping down the silhouette to its most basic form, the Nike Air Max 1 Slide is here in the classic “White Red Neutral Grey.”
Keeping the sole unit of the Air Max 1, the “Slide” iteration removes most of the upper and in turn sports a forefoot strap that contains details found on the actual AM1 sneaker. Red shades cover the entire footbed as well as the wavy suede panel on the forefoot strap while a white mesh, grey suede, and a partial red Swoosh logo mimic the upper of an AM1. Placed in the center of this same portion is the classic Nike Air Max 1 tongue tag in white and red, piercing off the grey suede it sits atop. As mentioned previously, the sole unit from the Air Max 1 remains with a visible Air unit in the heel and a white, black, and red rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Slide White Red Neutral Grey is set to release in 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $75.
