A masterpiece of sneaker design, the Nike Air Max 1 has continually resonated with sneakerheads and the general public since its inception. Among its many iterations, the Air Max 1 Grand Piano, released in 2009 as an ultra-limited edition in collaboration with Taiwan's PHANTACi store, stands out as a symbol of creativity and exclusivity. With only 400 pairs initially available, it quickly became a coveted collector's item. As Elden Monitors and SneakermarketRO reported, the Air Max 1 in the Grand Piano colorway is slated for a return in 2024, much to the delight of its avid admirers.
The re-release of the Air Max 1 Grand Piano remains identical to the original pair from 2009. The sneaker's upper elegantly combines patent leather and mesh, showcasing a black patent leather mudguard, vamp, and collar contrasting strikingly against the white base layer. A golden hue adorns the heel tab, echoing the grandeur of its namesake instrument. The attention to detail extends to the black lace dubrae and the additional pink dubrae included in the packaging, featuring the Piano inscription. A plush, velvet sockliner in pink elevates the interior, while the design is completed with a pristine white foam Air Max 1 midsole and a harmonizing pink rubber outsole.
The PHANTACi x Nike Air Max 1 Grand Piano will release April 27, 2024, through PHANTACi while a wider launch will take place on May 5, 2024, via Nike SNKRS in select regions. Coming in men's sizing, a retail price is to be announced.
