Nearly a year has passed since Nike's heartfelt homage to the Hispanic community with its "La Familia" and “Somos Familia” collection. As part of Nike's continuous commitment to celebrating Hispanic culture, a new iteration of the Air Max 1, deeply rooted in familia, is on the horizon.
The upcoming Nike Air Max 1 in the "Familia" colorway boasts a base rendered in a neutral tan with vibrant bursts of red, yellow, green, and pink throughout. We see a plush pink suede bordered by a green corduroy along the mudguard. Further enhancing its allure, the Swoosh brandishes a textured suede finish in pink. The shoe's structure is elevated by leather panels in tan, adorned across the midfoot and heel. The collar and toebox feature a wavy suede contrasted by yellow and red suede on the vamp and eyestays. While the tongue displays a textile construction, a delightful asymmetry is introduced with the left sneaker flaunting pink Air Max branding and the right parading Nike's "Familia" emblem. The ode to familia doesn't end there; the insoles proudly bear the "Familia" branding, and the sneakers come encased in special multi-colored packaging, a testament to Nike's dedication to detail. The tan foam midsole hosting a visible Air unit in the heel and a multi-color rubber outsole round out the design.
The Nike Air Max 1 Familia will release September 27, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
