More golf-ready Big Bubble renditions of the Nike Air Max 1 appear, this time in “Hot Punch Action Grape.”
Many may not have known about the OG version of the Nike Air Max 1 containing a much larger visible Air unit that Nike had to scrap due to flaws in the design, however, once The Swoosh formally announced the sneaker would return with its “Big Bubble” in 2023 sneakerheads were ready to be transported back to 1986. Although the original “Sport Red” colorway of the Air Max 1 will debut the OG construction on a standard pair, plenty of images have surfaced of golf-ready variants of the model. Adding to this list of sneakers ready to take on a game of 18 holes, the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG Golf gets dressed in a “Hot Punch Action Grape” colorway.
While these vibrant shades take over select details of the upper, the majority of the leather, suede, and mesh upper take on neutral shades of white, sanddrift, and black. Stark white shades pop along the mesh toebox and collar while the midfoot leather overlay also borrows this same hue. Along the suede overlays located on the vamp, mudguard, and heel sits a tan shade of sanddrift that contrasts the black branding details like the “Nike Air” embroidery and Swoosh logo on the heel and midfoot respectively. For added flair, the Air Max tag atop the tongue features a purple floral embroidery that matches the action grape shade found on the TPU eyestays. Underfoot sits a Big Bubble Air Max 1 sole in a pink shade dubbed “hot punch” while the rubber outsole below comes golf-ready and takes on a black, white, and action grape color scheme.
The Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG Golf Hot Punch Action Grape is set to release Summer 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
