Nike’s continued use of “Panda” (or Black White color combos) has become inescapable as the sportswear giant has added this easy-to-wear colorway to just about every silhouette under the sun. While we are all still waiting for the iconic Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG to return with its infamous “big bubble,” golfers are also waiting to get their hands on the same silhouette in golf-ready form as we’ve previously seen with the “Sport Red” colorway. Following the trend for “Panda” colors on golf-ready silhouettes, the Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG “Black White” has been revealed.
Dressing the upper is a combination of mesh and suede with the latter of the two materials making up the majority of the overlays. Most of the model is clad in black, as seen on the mudguard, toebox, eyestays, tongue, midfoot, and heel while branding details on the upper take on a stark white appearance. This is visible through the Swoosh logo on the midfoot, the Nike Air Max text atop the tongue and heel, and finally via the Nike Golf logo stamped on the black insole. Underfoot sits the most eye catching detail of the silhouette, a standard white foam AM1 midsole with the visible Air unit in the heel coming in its OG “big bubble” construction. Rounding out the design of the model is the two-tone black and white golf-ready rubber outsole that features a spike-less traction pattern.
The Nike Air Max 1 ‘86 OG Golf Black White is set to release Summer 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
