Knowing full well the history of the Air Force 1, Nike has taken the liberty of remixing the iconic silhouette in many different fashions. Whether that be with the Nike Air Force 1 High Up or the Air Force 1 Craft, the Swoosh knows how to mix old with the new. Joining the release of the “On The Bright Side” Collection is the women's exclusive Nike Air Force 1 Shadow.
Aiding the Shadow moniker of this AF1, double branding, mudguards, and eyestays make up the silhouette while maintaining the iconic shape of the OG. Switching out the usual leather, a mixture of suede and canvas in a springtime color palette covers the upper. Going up the dual-layered eyestays, the stacked suede and canvas work up towards the floral printed tongue tag. Along the lateral side of the silhouette, a pastel yellow canvas Swoosh sits above the embroidered grey Swoosh.
Canvas works back towards the double-stacked heel tab with dual Nike branding. Above all of that, a peachy salmon-colored canvas makes up the heel overlays. On the insole, “On The Bright Side” is printed on the right shoe while a Nike Swoosh makes it onto the left. Below the upper, the classic AF1 midsole is slightly exaggerated with an Air branded canvas patch sitting above the usual Air text towards the heel. All of this is rounded out by a white redesign outsole with dusty brown piping making up the stars and ridges on the edge of the outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 “On The Bright Side” and accompanying pack are set to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming exclusively in women's sizing, the retail has yet to be announced.
