Back in 1982, Bruce Kilgore unveiled the very first Nike Air Force 1. Four decades later, while we’ve seen the release of thousands and thousands of new colorways, the overall aesthetic and design has pretty much remained unchanged. As we celebrate its 40th birthday, however, the Beaverton brand has given the iconic basketball shoe a full revamp, and the result is the Nike Air Force 1 Mid React "Off Noir Action Grape" that looks like something from a completely different universe.
While the leather toe box section sticks to the original design, everything else has been totally reworked from the ground up. The lateral and medial sides are crafted from a porous mesh material that’s accented with action grape hues, while the usual Velcro-fastened strap has been moved from the ankle to the heel for a more streamlined approach. Of course, the main difference between this and the OG is the midsole. Combining old school Air technology with new school React cushioning, the AF1 is now comfier than ever.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid React Off Noir Action Grape releases this Holiday 2022 in men’s sizes for $150.
