Nasir Jones once said “no idea’s original, there’s nothing new under the sun.” Fair to say when I first saw this Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Our Force 1,” I immediately thought of the Nike Air Force 1 Low “HTM,” originally released in 2002. However, inspiration for this pair comes from defiant souls who produce new methods of expression. It also pays homage to the beginnings of streetwear with a punk viewpoint. The first “Our Force 1” release was a women’s exclusive AF1 Low that featured lighter colors and snakeskin accents. For this mid-top version, Nike decided to give them a more gritty look.
This particular Nike Air Force 1 Mid LX comes in black and pale ivory. Featuring black croc-like textured leather on the entire upper attributed to the streetwear call out. Midsole, stitching, and “Air Force - 1 Since 1982” lettering on the straps are all in a pale ivory color. The tongue and insoles are multi-colored with different patterns and prints, providing the punk rock vibe.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Our Force 1” is set to release on June 29th, 2022. It will drop on the Nike SNKRS app and select retailers worldwide, online and in-store.
