For Nike, the Air Force 1 has stayed a culturally relevant silhouette for decades. From NYC-natives giving it the “Uptown” nickname to Nelly down south dedicating a song to the model in the early 2000s. In honor of its 40th Anniversary, Nike has big plans for the model including a retro of the Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Chocolate” for the first time since its original 1998 release.
The upper of this mid-top AF1 partakes in an all-over chocolate suede across both the underlays and overlays. Cream hits are seen on the laces, sockliner, and Nike branding along the profile, vamp, heel, and tongue tag. Tonal chocolate stitching binding the overlays in place keeps things OG while the cream AF1-branded midsole ventures from the ‘98 release through its use of chocolate stitching in place of cream. Rounding out the sneaker is the chocolate rubber outsole. Packaging brings retro vibes through the orange shoebox and a vintage AF1 advertisement graphic on the tissue paper.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Chocolate is set to release on June 9th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
