Nike Honors Ancient Rome With This Air Force 1

Nike is no stranger to ancient mythology, changing their name from Blue Ribbon Sports to the Goddess of Victory Nike in 1971. While in the past the company has commemorated Ancient Greek mythology, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Roman Empire” (W) looks to its sister society for inspiration.

Donning a white tumbled leather underlay, the two-tone upper is accented by burgundy patent leather overlays around the mudguard, eyelets, Nike Swoosh and heel portion. The color scheme here represents the same palette used by ancient Roman battle flags. The tongue tag features a golden embroidered drawing of what appears to be a Roman Goddess with the Air Force 1 branding in black. Below the regal colored upper, an off-white cream AF1 midsole matches the tractioned rubber outsole, bringing together this ancient Roman inspired look.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Roman Empire (W) is set to be released in 2022. It will be available at Nike as well as select retailers worldwide. Available in exclusively in women’s sizing, a retail price is unconfirmed at this time. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
