Even though Nike is headquartered (and was founded) in the state of Oregon, its connection to the West Coast of the USA is undeniable. A series of sneakers themed around one of the largest cities out west, Los Angeles, have come over the last year mostly on the iconic AF1 including a patchwork and flea market-influenced colorway. Now in 2023, Nike is continuing to honor the City Of Angels with the canvas-covered Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium West Coast LA.
Taking on a canvas construction across its various overlays and underlays, we see a tonal shade of diffused blue cover the majority of the sneaker with accenting hits of metallic silver and white throughout. Along the portions hosting branding details, including the Swoosh, tongue tag, and heel tab, we see diffused blue tumbled leather appear while the sockliner gets luxe-like quilted stitching. Metallic hits appear via the mid-foot’s two added rings while the eyelets and “Nike Coast” lace dubrae come in this same silver finish. Our final nod to Los Angeles is found along the lateral heel overlay with a black patch hosting a graffiti-style “LA” intertwined with Nike branding. Rounding everything out is the white AF1 midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium West Coast LA is set to release on June 6th, 2023, through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
