The Air Force 1 is a sneaker that best represents New York, so it’s fitting that Nike is releasing a Nike “NY vs. NY” edition. The NY vs. NY basketball tournament returns in 2022. Established by Nike in 2017, this tournament showcases some of the best NY high school basketball players. Every year that this tournament has been played, Nike usually releases a NY vs. NY themed sneaker to coincide with it, this year is no different.
Coming in black, carbon green, treeline, white, gum light brown, and total orange, the Nike Air Force 1 Low "NY vs. NY" 2022 edition is made up of a mostly black upper. Squiggly lines in different shades of green can be seen as well. Watson, Dyckman, Tri State, Lincoln Park, Uptown Challenge, West 4th, and Gersh Park. These words represent seven areas where teams from summer basketball leagues will represent in the NY vs. NY tournament. These names can also be found on the insole. White is represented in the "NY vs. NY" lettering on the tongue tag, midsole, and "Nike Air" branding on the back heel. A clean translucent gum outsole finishes things off.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low NY vs. NY is set to release on June 29th, 2022. It will drop at Nike and select retailers worldwide, online and in-store. Retail is set at $120 for men’s sizes.
