Hold on tight, we’re heading back to 1982 for this AF1 colorway.

You’ve got to hand it to Nike for what they’ve done with the Air Force 1. Even though the basketball model is 40 years old, the Beaverton footwear company isn’t even close to running out of colorway ideas. For one of its latest renditions, we’re going back to the very beginning with the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Nike 101,” and here’s what you need to know!
Dropping the usual smooth leather construction in favor of all-things suede, the “Nike 101” boasts a white-hued upper that acts as a canvas for everything that comes after. The classic Swooshes have been replaced with a university blue outline, while lilac X-markings on the lateral toe add to the DIY-inspired design. This deconstructed aesthetic extends all the way towards the safety orange heel, and while they could’ve just left it there and called it a day, the Air sole is dipped in a translucent orange tone for a vintage vibe.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Nike 101 is to release in 2022 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Priced at $130, they will be available in men’s sizes.
