Plenty of special themes and redesigns have made their way to the Nike Air Force 1, but this year is a little different for the humble silhouette. Considering it’s the model’s 40th birthday, The Swoosh has to bring out the big guns. With this, Nike is creating special “Anniversary Edition” labeled AF1’s, as seen with the Nike Air Force 1 Low "Feel Free, Let’s Talk."

This themed Air Force 1 utilizes a mixture of smooth, tumbled, patent, and cracked leather across its upper with bright shades of color seen throughout. On the underlays and overlays, a light pink shade dresses the smooth leather sans the Nike Swoosh and tongue. A set of tan-shaded cotton laces run with the cream mesh tongue to the Nike Air branded tongue tag with the aforementioned “Anniversary Edition” text embroidered in cursive just below. Once you reach the midfoot you’ll notice the Nike Swoosh switches both material and color on both sides of each pair with blue cracked leather with red trim on the lateral side of the left shoe and green patent leather with yellow trim for the right. For the medial side, the left pair gets a red Swoosh with blue trim, and the right pair features a yellow Swoosh with green trim.

All of these logos run back to the patent leather heel tab and its vintage Nike Air font in black is placed on silver patent leather. The insole borrows from the laces and tongue for its color choice with a cartoon Nike Swoosh placed on the left insole and the right housing the colorways name, “Feel Free, Let’s Talk.” This same message is visible on the lateral side of the heel, written in a multicolor shade. Underfoot a deep yellow AF1 midsole keeps its classic Air branding on the heel, though enlarged graffiti style “AIR” text is painted over top. Rounding out the look is a tan rubber outsole with the iconic AF1 star pattern on the heel and toe.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Feel Free, Let’s Talk is slated to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is still TBA.
