In 1982, Bruce Kilgore officially unveiled the Nike Air Force 1. Known for its ultra clean aesthetic and unparalleled performance, little did he know that he had created one of the most iconic sneakers in history that would span generations. Even as we celebrate its 40th Anniversary this year, its overall design pretty much looks exactly the same - a testament to just how timeless the AF1 is. To honor Kilgore and his legacy, the Beaverton sportswear company has unleashed the Nike Air Force 1 Low 40th Anniversary "White Black," and it's a special edition colorway that every Swoosh fan should own.
Arriving in an incredibly clean white hue, these Forces are crafted from sleek leather throughout. A black Swoosh glides across the laterals and medials, offering a contrast that will no doubt turn heads. Luxe gold hardware adorns the top eyelets and dubrae, and speaking of which, this has been etched with the number "'82" on it as a nod to the year that the Air Force 1 made its official debut. The same year is printed on the insoles, and to round off this limited edition release, the heel is finely debossed with the number "40," finished impeccably by a quartet of stars.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low 40th Anniversary White Black is scheduled to release on October 13th, 2022 in men's sizes. Set to drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers both online and in physical locations, retail is set at $130.
