Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’d know that 2022 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Air Force 1. Designed by Bruce Kilgore back in 1982, the sneaker has infiltrated various sports, lifestyles, and sub-cultures over its four decades. To celebrate this icon, the Beaverton brand has been churning out a wide range of “40th Anniversary” colorways, including the brand new Nike Air Force 1 Low 40th Anniversary "Sail Team Red" that is fiery hot!
Crafted from a soft pebbled leather, the upper of these Forces are painted in a clean sail hue, and this is contrasted with team red tones across the sockliner and Air midsole. Luxe metallic gold dons the top eyestays and dubrae, and just in case one Swoosh wasn’t enough, a smaller one is finely embroidered along the lateral toe. The custom labeled insoles represent the past and the present for the AF1 with "82-22" printed on, and the number “40” is debossed around the heel as a nod to the anniversary, surrounded by a quarter of stars.
The Nike Air Force 1 40th Anniversary Sail Team Red W is set to release in October 2022. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select retailers worldwide, in-store and online.
