Nothing like a simple, monochrome AF1 colorway to celebrate 40 years of the model’s existence. The Nike Air Force 1 High may not be a favorite among sneakerheads and non-sneakerheads alike, but it is the original style that was released back in 1982. The Bruce Kilgore design was reduced in height to the low-cut that we all love and enjoy in 1983, as the sneakers grew in popularity not just with athletes, but with the early fit-getters of the '80s.
This Nike Air Force 1 High SE is wrapped entirely in malachite green leather, slightly pebbled, with smoother portions along the eyestays, and the textile ankle strap done in the same green. A small Nike Swoosh is stitched into the eyestay panel, just at the lateral side, to complement the larger white leather Nike Swoosh that runs from the quarter panel to the heel. A gold dubrae with “AF-1 ‘82” sits neatly at the first line of the shoelace. The white laces weave their way up to the custom tongue tag. In addition to a custom tongue tag, the heel is debossed with “40” bookended by debossed stars. The white midsole and outsole are accented with black “Air” branding and black piping along the heel of the midsole to complete the look of the sneaker.
The Nike Air Force 1 High 40th Anniversary Malachite W is set to release on October 13th, 2022.
