Nike’s Latest Air Force 1 ‘01 Collection is Covered in Cracked Patent Leather

Nike is slowly dipping its toe 25 years into the past. In a year full of Air Force 1 heat, Beaverton is bringing back the AF1 shape most requested by sneaker obsessives, cutting down the silhouette and returning some lost comfort. After debuting the retro shape in a series of collaborations with NIGO and Victor Victor, the ‘01 AF1 is ready to hit the inline catalog.

Cracked Patent is Back From ‘01

The Nike Air Force 1 Low '01 Cracked Leather Pack is the latest addition to Nike’s SNKRS Verified previews, adding two pairs of the ‘01 shape to the mix, covered in two-tone patent leather that’s cracked like they came straight out of a box from 2001. Arriving in black and white and teal and white, the pairs keep traditional AF1 blocking beneath the crackling uppers.

On the black pair, the toe, lace, and heel panels match the Swoosh in black, while the toebox, side panels, and tongue switch to white. The teal colorway keeps the same concept, with tinted green replacing black, but the white panels remain the same. On both pairs, the second color is added to the outsole and AIR branding on the midsole as well.
