Nike loves an anniversary. If this year’s Air Max 95, Air Jordan 1, and Air Jordan 11 releases have shown you anything, it’s that Beaverton loves a birthday party. But no matter how good an excuse a release anniversary is, not every shoe makes it to retail shelves.
Enter the Nike Foamposite Pro 25th Anniversary, a silver and black Foam created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1997 classic. Left on the cutting room floor in 2022, the sample never saw the light of day, but can now be purchased from Instagram user @donniebsoles, who somehow got his hands on 1 of a rumored 3 pairs in existence.
Featuring a metallic silver upper like a suit of armor, the outsole is a deep navy blue, and the toebox, tongue, laces, and heel are all black. The pair features a “25th Anniversary” tab on the tongue, a “25 Years of Foam 1997-2022” logo surrounding a basketball with a Swoosh in it on the insole, and a white and blue AIR label on the tongue. Of course, with this Pro variant, the upper gets a Swoosh, seen here in a tonal finish.
