Nike Air Foamposites are making a comeback. While not necessarily being shelved, releases have been spread out, with only a handful hitting the market throughout the year. Earlier in 2023, James Whitner, owner of The Whitaker Group, helped craft two new colorways of the Foamposite One, the “Dream A World Black” and “Dream A World Grey.” Following the release of these two compelling colorways, James’ The Whitaker Group is preparing the Nike Air Foamposite One Dream A World "DMV" in ultra-limited quantities by limiting the sneaker to just 850 pairs. With a strong fanbase in the DMV region, the Foamposite model enjoys a legacy of passion and adoration, making this release all the more special.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Dream A World "DMV" showcases a molded polyurethane upper adorned with an artistic graphic print, echoing the aesthetic of the two previous colorways. Complementing the upper, black nubuck appears on the eyestays and collar, perfectly harmonizing with the black mesh tongue. Enhancing the shoe's character, the Penny logo on the heel, Nike Swoosh near the toe, and the strip on the tongue is finished in reflective 3M, adding a glint of flair. Finalizing the design, the shoe is anchored by a translucent gum outsole with white and black checkerboard carbon fiber and black rubber in-between. This is packaged in a special box containing a quote from Roman philosopher Lucius Seneca, "luck/success happens when preparation meets opportunity," on the paper. The quote is also present on the insole.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Dream A World DMV will release on August 12, 2023, through Social Status Baltimore and A Ma Maniere DC in-store. An online raffle is available to enter on Social Status and A Ma Maniere’s website, with a first come, first served release on the 12th. Offered in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
