Nigel's The Claw Pop-Up

While all the focus in the sneaker world is on the Virgil Abloh Archives x Air Jordan 1 High Alaska, and rightfully so, we’re getting closer to the launch of Nigel Sylvester’s next Bike Air collab on the Air Jordan 4. Sylvester unveiled his Brick After Brick AJ 4 on March 3, giving us a full breakdown on the materials and inspiration, with this project inspired by “the discipline and the consistency it takes to sustain success while continuing to build.” It has been nearly four weeks since unveiling the project, and Nigel is now giving those in Los Angeles a chance at getting the Brick After Brick Jordan 4 early via The Claw.

Located at 8013 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, Nigel’s pop-up activation dubbed “The Claw” is exactly what you think it is: a claw machine. You know, the ones that are found in virtually all arcades and were a huge fad in the sneaker world during the resale boom of the last decade. Nigel explains in a video inside the activation that no Brick After Brick AJ 4s will be sold at the pop-up, and the only way to walk away with a pair is to win the claw machine game.

Nigel’s Brick After Brick The Claw activation will run from 12 PM - 3 PM in Los Angeles, but before he could officially announce details, a line had already formed outside the venue. Nearly seven hours before posting the location and details, locals already found the Bike Air-branded building. Around 60 people lined up with chairs to camp out overnight, as seen in the photos posted by HORHEAD_Sales and the video taken by JustFeats.

Hopefully with news that it’s just a giveaway for a few pairs of shoes and not an early release, the line died down. But we know how resellers are, and they likely stayed. Even still, if you have no plans in Los Angeles today from 12 PM to 3 PM, you can attend Nigel’s The Claw pop-up at 8013 Melrose Ave. To stay updated on the latest happenings in the sneaker world, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
