Unlike decades past, musical artists' names carry more weight than athletes that were at one time the face of labels like Nike or Jordan Brand. Superstars like Travis Scott or Bad Bunny bring their rabid fan base to Nike/JB and adidas respectively, though the former of the two at one point had a deal with one of the best female rappers in the game Nicki Minaj. During her short stint with Jordan Brand, the label crafted her special pairs commemorating her (at the time) latest album, The Pinkprint, on a pair of Air Jordan 6 Retro Lows.
Taking on an all-leather build, a gradient shade of pink on the front half transitions into purple as you work back. Contrasting the vibrant colors are the white leather overlays seen along the midfoot, collar, and heel. Standard AJ 6 details remain with some added flair from Minaj like the metallic lacelock on the pink lace set and a purple Jumpman shroud, however, the album cover for “The Pinkprint” takes over the heel’s branding details as well as the insole’s graphic. Underfoot sits an AJ 6 midsole in white with the same gradient effect taking over portions of the foam. Rounding everything out is the pink semi-translucent rubber outsole.
