Puma is currently undergoing a changing of the guard as their current CEO, Bjorn Gulden, is set to move over to adidas once we ring in the new year. Under his guidance, the brand's basketball offerings have caught fire thanks to the signing of NBA star LaMelo Ball and the introduction of his signature sneaker line - the Puma MB. With the MB.01 coming in a variety of colorways and hosting a series of collaborations, we’re getting first looks at the Puma MB.02s first collaborative colorway - the Nickelodeon x Puma MB.02 “Slime.”
As if they were receiving a Kids Choice Award, the sneaker comes covered in a slime-green shade with bright volt shades taking over the top half of the model. The typical smooth and curved TPU overlays receive a drippy treatment, seen down on the toe and via the Puma formstrip logo on the lateral midfoot while the fused overlays in the same location come in green shades. Moving to the medial side, red hues take over parts of the fused overlays that make up the wings-like design while you can find more of this shade atop the tongue on the “1 of 1” logo. Our final hits of branding are visible on the insole with a co-branded Puma and Nickelodeon Slime logo. Rounding out the look is the Nitro Foam cushioned midsole and rubber outsole that gets covered in slime green.
The Nickelodeon x Puma MB.02 Slime is set to release on December 23rd, 2022 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s, gradeschool, and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $140 for men.
