Things are ringing off for the Liberty Bell Boys in Philly. The Philadelphia 76ers are looking as good as advertised with a healthy Joel Embiid and new additions in Jaylen Brown and LeJawn James, but the real heavy hitter has been two-time All-Star and New Balance signature athlete Tyrese Maxey. Since lacing up the Maxey 1 to start the 2026-2027 season, Maxey has been on a tear, averaging 30 points in the Sixers’ two victories. Now, with a new pair on the horizon in a familiar black and red colorway, some acclaimed film directors may say that it had to be the result of the footwear.
New Balance Maxey v1 Black Red Details
After donning the debut black and blue pair, a new pair of the Maxey 1 has appeared taking on the classic Iverson-era colorway. Maxey donned the colorway during the first half of the Cavs game before switching to the Black Blue colorway to lead the comeback. The silhouette features a black breathable mesh base as well as the lace panel and tongue optimized for extra ventilation for the speedy guard. A black suede wraps the eyelet, and on to the heel. A splash of red pops up on the wavy synthetic overlays on the side panels and the equally wavy dual rail midsole inspired by the New Balance 9060. The N logo on the side panel keeps a low profile with a red outline on the rubberized black N. The blend of materials moves around to the leather heel counter which features a blue gem-like New Balance logo that stands out on the dark colorway.
